About the Firm
O’Hara and Co is an independent
niche firm of Insolvency Practitioners specialising in all
aspects of insolvency, including providing Corporate and Personal
financial advice.
The two partner practice was founded in 1989 by Peter O'Hara who is Senior Partner and was joined by Simon Weir in 1992.
Peter qualified as a licensed Insolvency Practitioner in 1986 and Simon in 1999
The Practice carries out assignments throughout
the UK, although the majority are undertaken in Yorkshire.
Head Office is situated in Birstall, which is approximately
7 miles south of Leeds with excellent links to all the North's
main towns and cities, the M62, M1 and A1 motorways.
O’Hara & Co is a firm member of the
Insolvency Practitioners Association (“IPA”) and
the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (“R3”).
Peter & Simon give frequent presentations
and seminars on insolvency matters and other financial topics
to secured lenders, credit controllers and
various other professional bodies.
The Practice has excellent relationships with
a number of clearing Banks, Invoice Discounters and Asset
Based Lenders. Traditionally, O’Hara & Co has obtained
the majority of its work from Independent Accountants primarily
based in Yorkshire.
O’Hara & Co prides itself on the ability
to quickly identify problems supported by specialist Solicitors
and Agents, enabling its partners and staff to give clear,
concise and pragmatic advice.
Value for money, no-nonsense advice and a willingness to go that extra mile are key components of the services offered.
In relation to Corporate Insolvency, the Practice
will advise the most appropriate solution available including
Administration, Company Voluntary Arrangement or Liquidation.
In relation to Personal Insolvency a Partner
will be able to advise whether an Individual Voluntary Arrangement
or Bankruptcy is the most appropriate solution available.
Through an associated Company, CCC Debt
Management, O’Hara & Co are able to offer a bespoke
debt collection service ranging from managing a Company’s
sales ledger to collecting individual, problematic debts.
